I am excited to announce that we will be expanding our offerings with the launch of our new parent umbrella brand - Guidr. With Guidr, we will be offering our learning app in more than 8 Indian languages, in addition to Gujarati.
Guidr is founded and owned by the same person as Gujju Student, and it is an extension and expansion of our existing platform. I started Gujju Student while I was still in school, and it has since grown to be a leader in online education in Gujarat. Over the past five years, the platform has been used by more than 700K students. Despite being a single-person venture, we have continued to improve and evolve our offerings based on user feedbacks, within the reach of my bandwidth.
With Guidr, we are taking a bold step forward in our mission to provide high-quality educational resources to students in multiple Indian languages. We believe that every learner has the potential to succeed, and that language should not be a barrier to learning. That's why we designed Guidr to be India's first multilingual study app designed for Gen Z learners.
Gujju Student will continue to operate independently, but it will now be known as "Gujju Student by Guidr" to reflect its association with the parent brand. This expansion is a testament to our dedication to providing the best educational resources to students across India, regardless of the language they speak. This means that users of Gujju Student will still be able to access all of the same content and features that they have come to know and love, but with in sync with Guidr's brand along with the added benefit of being able to access the same content for different boards in additional languages through Guidr.
The Guidr platform offers a better learning experience by several performance improvements and use of game-based techniques, collaborative features - all in one convenient app. It will be gradually available in 8 additional Indian languages, starting today with Hindi and Marathi - for CBSE-NCERT, Rajasthan and Maharashtra State Board students. Other language/state-board apps will be available as soon as they’re approved by the Google Play app reviewers. Users will be able to download the app from the Google Play Store for each language, or access it all directly through the Guidr web app.
While we are excited about the potential of Guidr to improve education in India, we also recognize the challenges we face. The education technology sector in India has been struggling recently and we will be competing with established players in the market. In addition, as a small team, we may face difficulties in this expansion process, but just like how we steadily grew to 700K+ family in Gujarat without spending on marketing, hiring; we are committed to overcoming these challenges and providing high-quality educational resources to learners in multiple Indian languages. We believe that our personalized, game-based approach will appeal to Gen Z learners and help them succeed.
As the first version of app has gone live, the Guidr team is currently made up of the founder, Hitarth Sheth and in talks with a couple of young candidates who would potentially join in. We are actively looking for talented individuals to join our team in various domains as interns, part-time and full-time positions (both paid and unpaid opportunities).
